Little Falmouth Yacht Yard

Flushing, Falmouth

Cornwall, TR11 5TJ

Operations from 5th January 2021

Following on from last night’s announcement by the Prime Minister, I am writing to advise on changes regarding access to, and all operations at, Falmouth Boat Co.

In light of the governments message to Stay at home, Protect the NHS and Save lives, we will close access to the yard for all non-essential visitors with immediate effect, both in and out of hours, weekdays and weekends.  During this time, should you wish us to carry out any minor caretaking, please email us at enquiries@falmouthboat.co.uk and we will attend for you.

Given the fact that we have strict protocols already in place from previous lockdowns within our premises and the additional message that we can continue to operate our business if we are unable to reasonably work from home, operations will continue with the repair and service work we do.  Certain aspects of administration and Management will move off site as per earlier last year.

That said, some staff and/or their families are considered to be vulnerable at this time and so will remain at home for the foreseeable future.

This absence does diminish some aspects of what we can achieve with our work, however, plans are being considered to mitigate this impact and endeavour to carry out service as usual.

Finally, contractors working with us or for our clients on our premises will still be able to access during this lockdown period provided they comply with, and adhere to, our Covid-19 protocols and manage themselves in a considerate and sensible manner.  Advance notice of their arrival and intentions is an absolute necessity, so please notify anyone who you may have working for you that this is the case - given the serious nature of this, non-compliance will result in access privileges being removed and their work ceasing.

So, for the coming weeks, we will be operating under different and difficult circumstances and I apologise in advance if this impacts upon our service delivery or enjoyment of your boat.

No doubt, we all hope that this can change very soon, but in the meantime, I wish you well with your own challenges during this time and look forward to seeing you as soon as the change in restrictions allows.

Stay safe ….

Kind regards

Jonathan Fielding
